Thrift Store Finds!

I love hitting the thrift stores to see what goodies I can find. Often people will donate boxes and bags full of supplies that are new or gently used craft supplies to local thrift stores and organizations. Many of these stores support great causes like the American Kidney Association, so it's awesome that I have the ability to contribute while I score some great inventory.

This past weekend I really hit a jackpot! While shopping with my girls I went to my usual spots, hoping to find one or two items to add to my inventory.

I have in the past found mixed bags of brand new fabric, which generally include upholstery, cotton woven and other pieces. This time I found a bag jam packed with quilters cotton! Some very classic prints, in fat quarters and yardage. I hesitate to say what I paid for this bag, but let's put it this way it was about the price of a tall Americano from $4 bucks.

As we roamed I thought I had found the biggest score of the day but then near the register I found a wonderful gem. Bags of yarn! There were about 5 or 6 bags of what I would consider boutique yarn. No Wally-world cheap stuff. I grabbed two bags right on the spot.

After sorting them all out an organizing them into bins I was so pleased with what I found inside. Berroco, Cotton Supreme, Jupiter Moon Farm, Covet, Cascade Farms, just to mention a few.

Skeins upon skeins. I went back today and bought two more bags. If you are a needle crafter, stay tuned I will get them up on the site as fast as I can.

Whoever said that thrifting is not thrilling has not been to my thrift haunts! It's been a while since I've had needle craft supplies available, so I'm happy that I will be able to serve that demographic now.

Take a walk into your local thrift store, you never know what you can find!
